We’re proud to be located in the Rochester, New York area. We understand the diversity in weather we will face and the threat it can pose to our homes. Condo

Condo policies offer a different type of insurance that fits somewhere between renters and homeowners. Much of what is covered is a balance between your insurance policy and the Condo Association Coverage. A general policy will cover: | Personal liability coverage | Guest medical coverage | Building property protection | Personal property coverage All four of these tend to cover things inside your condo. Even the building property protection covers items within the existing walls. This could mean built-in bookshelves, cabinets, or other items that are affixed to the walls without being part of the walls. Because there is always an overlap between what you are required to cover and what the condo association will cover with their insurance policy, there are several options. Let’s sit down and run through your condo association’s master policy to help you determine what exactly you need and what might be in your best interest to have covered in your policy. Here is a list of common condo insurance options and what they help with: Loss assessment coverage This helps cover common area damage if there is a stipulation in your master policy that you are required to cover a percentage of the cost. Flood insurance Flood insurance may be required by your mortgage company or it may be optional. Usually, this comes attached to a disclosure during the purchase if your property is in a known flood zone. Umbrella insurance This covers anything above and beyond what might be covered by your condo’s policy. Scheduled personal property This is used to cover any items of high value. At Jessica Guay Insurance, we aim to protect you and your family. There are two main types of life insurance, term life insurance, and permanent life insurance. While they are aimed at providing for your family should you pass, they offer different benefits while you are alive. Term Life Insurance Term life insurance has a policy that is in effect for a set period of time. Whether that period is one year or thirty, it will end. If you pass before the policy expires, your beneficiaries will receive a payout. People tend to have policies like this earlier in life to protect against an accident or unforeseen illness. Because of the time limit, the monthly payments are lower in cost. Some term life insurance policies can be renewed and others can convert to permanent life insurance policies at a specified age. These options will be laid out in your policy so you know what your options are. Permanent Life Insurance This type of policy does not expire and guarantees a payout for your family. While you are living and making payments, your cash value total increases. You have the option to take money out of this account while you are alive if you choose. This cash value grows throughout the whole time you are paying into your life insurance policy. It can be used for anything you want. However, when you die, any money accrued here will be added to the payout. That’s why we offer boat insurance here at Jessica Guay Insurance. You might think the insurance is just meant to cover you while you are enjoying the wind and sun out on the lake, but rest assured we cover you even when you are on land. Our insurance policies offer coverage even while your boat is in storage or being transported from your garage to the lake. When you build your boat policy you have multiple options: | Watercraft medical payment coverage - helps pay for medical or funeral costs if someone is hurt on your boat. | Watercraft liability coverage - offers help paying for damages, medical costs, funeral costs, and loss of income for you and the passengers on your boat. | Property coverage - pays for damages to your boat in case of collision, even if your boat is docked. | Repair cost endorsement coverage - helps cover repairs to your boat. | Emergency services coverage - helps cover the cost in the event of a tow or on-site repairs. | Uninsured watercraft coverage - covers repairs or medical bills in case of a collision with an uninsured boat. | Agreed value option - in case of full loss of your boat, you will be reimbursed for the value at the beginning of the policy. | Personal effects coverage - covers personal effects should they be damaged, lost, or stolen. | Additional boat equipment coverage - covers equipment not attached to the boat in case of loss or damage. | Boat trailer coverage - offers coverage for your trailer in case of accident or damage. With boating being a little different in regard to state requirements in New York, all of the above coverages are optional.
